Biography
Kita Mean is New Zealand’s first Drag Superstar! Boasting a career spanning over 15 years with her upbeat and infectious charm and unmistakably ‘high camp’ aesthetic, she has enchanted audiences worldwide at some of the biggest events all while headlining New Zealand’s longest-running cabaret show, Caluzzi Cabaret.
Kita soared to international fame as the inaugural winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under and then solidified her global status as New Zealand’s top Drag Queen when Harper Collins published her memoir, “Life in Lashes”.
Renowned for her razor-sharp wit, signature makeup, and vibrant aesthetic, Kita Mean is heavily celebrated for her comedic timing which has been praised by some of the industry’s most respected authorities around the world. Kita continues to dazzle crowds across Australia, New Zealand, Bali, USA, Tonga, Canada, Thailand and London with her sold-out solo show, ‘Delightfully Camp,’ and drag revue show ‘Queens of Drag’.
Kita Mean has Emceed, DJ’d and performed for huge brands such as Disney, Comms Bank, TipTop, Skycity, Vodafone, Frucor and so so many more.
